This table covers Premiss’s current workflows and Robinhood’s documented US agent offering. Access, account eligibility, and regional restrictions can change.
| What matters | Premiss | Robinhood Agents |
|---|---|---|
| Where you work | A browser workspace for research agents, saved findings, and strategy development. | Built-in agents in the Robinhood mobile app; external agents can connect through MCP. [1][6] |
| Market research | Investigate stocks and crypto, follow source links, and revisit a standing question. | Research investments, inspect holdings, build watchlists, and use market tools. [1] |
| Scheduled tasks | Save recurring research tasks with a schedule and a destination for each update. | Built-in Agent Loops for scheduled or continuous work are labeled coming soon. External scheduling depends on your agent platform. [4][6] |
| Reports and follow-up | Receive task updates in chat, on the shared Desk, or in a connected Discord channel. | Continue in agent chat with remembered context, charts, tables, and other visuals. [1] |
| Real-money trading | Agent trading signals require enabled access. Strategy signal bots are a separate workflow; direct exchange access requires separate approval. | Built-in and external agents can place eligible equities, options, and crypto trades in dedicated accounts. [3] |
| Trading controls | Research tasks start with research permission. Available trading workflows have their own permissions and limits. | Built-in trade approvals default to on; external MCP approvals default to off. Some trades still require approval. [3][2] |
| Testing a strategy | Build defined crypto rules, backtest them, and run strategy paper bots. Agent paper trading is a separate, access-dependent feature. | Agent trading tools operate on a brokerage account. Evaluate any simulation or backtesting workflow separately before funding it. [2][3] |
| AI usage costs | Free during early access with usage allowances. Check the current pricing page for limits and plan availability. | Built-in agents use a prepaid token balance; costs vary by model. External agents follow their provider’s pricing. [5][6] |
Scheduled Robinhood Agent Loops are marked coming soon on the reviewed product page. That label describes built-in loops; an external agent may use its own scheduling. [4][6]
02 / In practice
Start with the job
you want done.
A useful comparison starts with a specific task. Here are three ways to think about the fit.
A question you keep revisiting
“What changed in my thesis?”
In Premiss, give an agent a research brief, the sources to check, and what a useful update should contain. Save a recurring task and send its findings to chat, Desk, or Discord. Follow the source links and refine the question as new evidence arrives.
Robinhood’s built-in agent can investigate investments and your holdings using its tools and conversation memory. Choose it when the question is closely tied to a portfolio you already keep there. [1]
Build a recurring market scanRules you can measure
“How would this strategy have behaved?”
Use Premiss’s strategy builder to turn a defined crypto trading idea into rules you can inspect. Backtest those rules, account for fees, and run a strategy paper bot forward. This helps you judge the rules over a consistent sample.
A research agent can change its judgment as evidence changes. A backtest of a fixed strategy therefore does not establish how that agent will trade. Agent paper trading in Premiss is a separate feature with account-dependent access, currently covering BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT, and SOL/USDT.
Understand what a backtest tells youA decision that becomes an order
“Can the agent act on this?”
Robinhood’s documented advantage for this job is brokerage execution: agents can place eligible equities, options, and crypto orders in a dedicated account. Review the approval settings and account restrictions before granting autonomy. [3][2]
In Premiss, check which trading features are enabled for your account. Agent trading signals are gated. The separate strategy signal-bot workflow sends defined strategy signals to supported destinations, and direct exchange connections require separate approval. A research report is not an executed order.

Premiss
Premiss is free during early access, subject to usage allowances. Agents use your existing allowance. Check current limits and plan availability before building a frequent research routine.
Trading access is a separate question: a plan or allowance does not automatically authorize direct exchange execution.

Built-in agents receive a $5 starting token credit and then draw from a prepaid usage balance. Robinhood charges the selected model’s public token cost, rounded to the nearest cent; message costs vary with usage and model. Automatic top-ups are optional. [5]
External agents use their provider’s pricing. Check applicable brokerage, options, and crypto fees separately. Avoid treating an AI credit as the total cost of an agent trading workflow. [6][3]
04 / Your decision
Choose where your
next question belongs.
Choose Premiss when
You want a research routine.
- You want recurring stock or crypto research with source links.
- You want reports in a browser workspace, shared Desk, or Discord.
- You want to develop and test defined crypto strategies alongside your research.
Choose Robinhood when
You want brokerage tools close by.
- Your work centers on holdings you keep at Robinhood.
- You want built-in agent chat in the mobile brokerage app.
- You want eligible agent orders executed through a dedicated Robinhood account.
Our recommendation is based on workflow fit. Neither product’s feature list establishes better returns, and this comparison does not claim that one agent is more profitable.
05 / Questions
Before you
pick an agent.
What is the main difference between Premiss and Robinhood agents?
Premiss brings ongoing market research, scheduled reports, and strategy development into a browser workspace. Robinhood puts built-in agents inside its brokerage app and also supports external agents through MCP. Choose based on where you want to research, test, and execute—not on an assumed difference in investment returns. [1][6]
Does Robinhood have built-in AI trading agents?
Yes. Robinhood documents agents you can create in its mobile app, choose a model for, and connect to a dedicated Agentic account. This is separate from bringing an external agent through Robinhood’s Trading MCP. Built-in setup does not require you to configure MCP manually. [2]
Can Robinhood agents trade automatically?
Yes, for eligible trades when trade approvals are off. Built-in agents start with approvals on; external MCP accounts start with approvals off. Certain trades can still require approval, and crypto availability has state restrictions. Review the settings for your account before letting an agent act. [3]
Can I schedule an AI agent to research markets every day?
In Premiss, you can save a recurring research task, set its schedule, and choose where updates arrive. As of September 30, 2026, Robinhood’s product page labels built-in Agent Loops as coming soon. Scheduling an external Robinhood-connected agent depends on the platform running that agent. [4][6]
Can I paper trade with a Premiss agent?
Agent paper trading depends on enabled account access. Where available, it supports BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT, and SOL/USDT with simulated balances, fees, and slippage. Premiss also has a separate strategy paper-bot workflow. A historical backtest of fixed rules does not validate every future decision an AI research agent may make.
Is Premiss free, and what do Robinhood agents cost?
Premiss is free during early access, within its usage allowances. Robinhood’s built-in agents start with a $5 token credit, then use a prepaid balance charged at the selected model’s public token cost, rounded to the nearest cent. External-agent usage follows the external provider’s pricing. Trading fees and other account costs should be checked separately. [5][6]
Are Robinhood Agents the same as Cortex Digests?
They are different workflows. Cortex Digests provide AI summaries of factors affecting an asset or portfolio. Robinhood Agents let you interact with an agent that can use tools and place eligible trades. This comparison focuses on Agents and external-agent access; Digests have their own availability and subscription terms. [7][1]
Does Premiss connect directly to Robinhood?
A direct Robinhood connection is not listed in Premiss’s current integration catalog. Treat Premiss research and Robinhood execution as separate workflows unless a supported connection is explicitly available in your account. Check the integration page before choosing an execution destination.
06 / Evidence
Sources & method.
Published by Premiss. We reviewed Robinhood’s official US product and support pages on September 30, 2026, and checked Premiss’s product workflows and access controls. This is a documentation-based comparison, not a performance test.
Coming-soon and restricted features are identified explicitly. A feature’s absence from a reviewed page is not proof that the product cannot support it. Confirm current availability before making a decision.
